Énfasis de investigación orientado a estudiar la relación entre las políticas y programas neoliberales de desarrollo y los movimientos sociales del "Tercer Mundo", así como las políticas de conservación y su dimensión racial y de género a partir de las acciones de resistencia y/o articulación de comunidades rurales locales en Colombia y en la India.
